The benefits of using a marketing company

: The term "marketing company" can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. To further complicate things, after agreeing on what the term means you still have to find the right marketing company to suit your needs. Some specialize in helping small businesses while others will only work with huge multi-million dollar corporations. Some may focus on particular industries and others may focus on a single aspect of marketing such as SEO or web site design. In any case, there are some things that are common to pretty much every marketing company.

  • Expertise - A marketing company knows how to help you get the most from your marketing budget. By hiring them for their services you can generate more revenue because you won't have to learn what works and what doesn't. It may seem attractive to have your nephew design your web site because he will do it for $500 but unfortunately, doing so probably won't present a professional image of your company nor will it increase your sales.

  • Contacts - They can help you to save a lot of time and money on your marketing because they already know where to go or who to call to make things happen. If you need your company vehicles wrapped to promote your business, they can tell you who is the most reliable and cost effective, or in some cases, handle it for you.

  • Manpower - One of the benefits that a marketing company can provide is that they can usually create more powerful marketing materials in a shorter time frame. This allows you to leverage your time more effectively and create a more successful business.

  • Technology - When you handle your own marketing you usually have to get by with what you have. Marketing companies are able to be far more productive and flexible, in part, because they have access to a technical resources that most people don't have.

These are just a few of the benefits that you can expect to receive from a professional marketing company. Additionally, there are probably hundreds of benefits specific to a particular company depending on their specialty. The bottom line is that you are putting someone with the proper expertise in charge of generating new business for your company so that you can focus on your area of expertise, and ultimately, become more successful and more profitable.

The 3 things to avoid when emailing your list

When you decide to have an opt-in list, it is not just a matter of sending your subscribers your promotional newsletters or catalogs. There are many things to consider in avoiding many complications. While there are so many ways you can make people subscribe to your list, there are also some things you must do to avoid subscribers from wanting to get off from your list. Aside from that, you also want to avoid any problems with the law and your internet service provider or ISP. There are now many laws and rules that are applied to help protect the privacy of the internet users from spamming and unwanted mails. With the popularity of the electronic mail as a medium for marketing because of the low cost, many company’s have seized the opportunity and have flooded many people’s e-mail accounts with promotional mail. But, with an opt-in list, you avoid this annoyance because people subscribe to the list; they want to receive the newsletters and promotional materials. They have consented to being on the list by subscribing themselves, just don’t forget to put an unsubscribe feature everytime in your opt-in list so that you avoid any confusion. There may be times when an email account was provided when the real owner didn’t want to subscribe. It is essential that you keep your list clean and manageable. Arrange it by using the many tools and technologies available for your opt-in list. Do not worry; your investment in this marketing strategy is well worth it with all the coverage you will get which will likely be converted into sales then to profit. Keep yourself and your business out of trouble and potential run-ins with the law and the internet service providers. Keep your operation legit and clean. Your reputation as a legitimate businessman and a legitimate site depends on your being a straight and true marketing strategist. As a tip, here are three things to avoid when emailing your list. 1) Take notice of your unsuccessful sends. These are the e-mails that bounce. Bounced emails, also known as undeliverable messages, are those messages that, for whatever reason, were not successfully received by the intended recipient. There are bounces that happen or occur because the server was busy at that time but can still be delivered in another time. There are also bounces because the inbox of the recipient is full at that time. There are those bounce messages that are simply undeliverable ever. The reason for this is that it may be an invalid email address, a misspelled email address, or an email address that was abandoned and erased already. Manage your list by putting markings on those that bounce. Erase an email account from your list so that you have an accurate statistics and records as to how many are actually receiving your mail. You may also want to check the spellings of your email addresses in your list. One common mistake is when an N instead of an M is placed in the area. 2) Always provide an unsubscribe feature in your site and an unsubscribe link in your mails. When someone in your list files a request to be unsubscribed, always take that request seriously. If you don’t take them off your list and keep sending them your e-mails, you are now sending them spam mail. When you are reported as a spammer, you and your business can get into a lot of trouble. You can be reported to the authorities and maybe blacklisted by many internet service providers. You will lose a lot of subscribers this way and many more in potential subscribers. 3) Do not provide pornographic or shocking and disturbing content in your newsletters. It is hard to decipher the age of the recipient and many complaints may stem from these. Controversial issues also are to be avoided to not be branded by your subscribers. Stick to the nature of your site and business. Always remember these tips in this article so that you can have a healthy relationship with your subscribers as well as be kept within the boundaries of what is allowed in sending mails to an opt-in list.

The crucial need for innovation in the field of industrial marketing

By Conrad Bailey If your company manufactures or sells industrial supplies, equipment or machinery, and you are the person responsible for sales, then undoubtedly, you know how competitive the industrial marketplace has become over the last few years - especially on a global scale. Because of this, the need to gain competitive advantages through profitable marketing innovation is greater today than ever before. A company can no longer ignore innovation if it expects to gain or maintain its competitive edge in the marketplace. What Is Marketing Innovation? Marketing innovation is when a company creates or discovers a unique way of promoting their products, not necessarily through an entirely new channel or medium, but certainly different nonetheless. In many cases, marketing innovation can result from the integration of several existing resources and tools that can be utilized to help a company reach their target market in a more cost effective manner. Marketing innovation does not just happen. It must be connected to competitive issues the company faces in the marketplace. It is these issues that impact a company's bottom line as much as anything else, and if not addressed, through marketing innovation, it will spread like cancer eating away, piece by piece an organization's existence. Marketing innovation can only happen in an entrepreneurial climate which allows a person to unleash their creativity and spawn new ideas and strategic methods to reach their target audience. The task could be as simple as designing a more client centered Web site, or re-think pay-per-click strategies, or perhaps even re-define an entire marketing campaign. The Mind Of A Marketing Innovator In general, there is one path every marketing innovator takes, and it all starts with skepticism, a natural reaction when entering the unknown. Soon after skepticism follows enthusiasm because with focused effort you start to see the potential of your new marketing strategy. Thus, you excitedly start to put your plan into action. However, as weeks and perhaps months go by you start to realize that your idea will take more time and money than you initially expected... You press on but still see no visible results. You begin to question if it's worth it. You feel like giving up. It is at this point you have reached the dark night of the marketing innovator. At this stage is when most people give up on their new marketing plan. They take their losses and just move on in hopes of creating another, more profitable strategy. Ironically, they usually but unknowingly will return to the same path of resistance, and once again give up on their ideas only to find "better ones." In contrast, the marketing innovator that stays focused on his or her plan, despite the dark nights, will often start to see pay offs and thus, push further ahead. Even the slightest payoffs will significantly shift an innovator's thoughts from despair to thinking it's not a bad idea after all. The success itself is the driving force that will guide an innovator forward with more motivational energy than at any other point on the path of innovation. The Co-op Industrial Advertising Network One example of marketing innovation is the Co-Op Industrial Advertising Network which I partially created with the assistance of IndustrialLeaders, a Global Industrial Supply Directory. Together, we've designed an innovative but yet practical lead generation program for manufacturers and suppliers of industrial products. Moreover, the entire program is free. The Co-Op Industrial Advertising Network is a Web based industrial marketing program which was founded on the principle that generating pre-qualified sales opportunities for your company is more important than generating traffic to your Web site. The Co-Op Industrial Advertising Network does generate traffic, but emphasis is primarily on increasing sales opportunities for members. What makes the Co-Op Industrial Advertising Network unique is you don't have to offer or share any ad space on your Web site. The reason is because we create for each member a fully optimized Presell page which is hosted by us and accessible across our entire network by utilizing an in-house linking system. Therefore, members automatically share traffic and sales opportunities with one another in a completely effortless manner - and without exchanging ads. It is a very effective and popular coop advertising program. Some Last Words About Marketing Innovation Don't wait for innovative marketing opportunities to arise - create them. To do that you must leave behind specialized thinking when it comes to marketing, which traps you in a rut mode. You must determine you are ready for marketing innovation and focus on how you can reach your target audience more productively. You should expect and be prepared for obstacles to arise within the marketplace as well as within yourself. Remember, the greatest and most memorable marketing accomplishments were due to someone taking a big risk. With proper research and various testing of different ideas, you can eliminate most and sometimes even all of the risk and prosper substantially. Mistakes

: Don’t worry about making mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes. Why should you be different? The person who never made a mistake, never made anything. Mistakes can be costly. They can also be educational. Look upon your mistakes as assets. Life is a learning process. Learn from your mistakes. Profit from them and you will not only make more money, you will also become a better person. You must face the fact that from time to time you will make the odd mistake. As long as they are not life threatening, pick yourself up, dust yourself down and get on with your life. Just remember not to make the same mistake twice. As I said before, “Learn from your mistakes.” Better still, learn from other people’s mistakes. There are people out there who have become millionaires working on the internet. Do you think they never made mistakes? They are only too willing to admit their mistakes and to explain how they resolved them. If you want to get to the top, and I presume that you do, study those who have already made it to the top. Study the way they did it. Copy the methods of successful people. They will not be too proud to explain the problems they encountered on the way. Problems that you will surely meet as you progress and gain experience. Disregard the ‘overnight gurus’ trying to sell you the latest get-rich scheme. If you listen to them you will be making the biggest mistake of all. The old adage: "Learn to walk before you try to run." Holds good in any type of business venture. The main difference when setting up a business on the internet, as against setting up a conventional business, is that on the internet there is no shortage of genuine advice for the newcomer to take advantage of. Good advice is there for the taking. Don’t disregard it just because it is free. Some of the very best things in life are free. Just make sure that you take full advantage of them. Relax, nothing is so bad that it can’t be fixed. Here’s to your great success. Bob….

With so many affiliate programs which one should i choose

The number one thing you need to do when looking into the myriad of affiliate programs available is to ask questions first before you join any program. You have to do the research about the choices of each program that you are thinking about joining. Get the answers before joining because they will be the deciding factors of what you will be achieving later on. I have listed here some of the main questions that you need to ask any retailer offering an affiliate program. "Will it cost me anything to join?" The majority of affiliate programs offered today are free of charge, so why pay for those that charge you something before joining? Unless there is only a very small fee and a very large ROI (Return On Investment), paying to be an affiliate just doesn’t make sense. "When do they send out the commission checks?" Each program is different, so this is an important question. Some issue their checks once every month, every quarter, etc. Find the one that is best suited to your payment schedule choice. There are many affiliate programs that are setting a minimum earned commission amount that you must meet or exceed in order for them to issue you a check, so be sure to ask if they have a minimum. "What is their hit per sale ratio?" This very important question tells you what the average number of banner or text link "hits" it takes to generate a sale. A "hit" occurs when someone clicks on the banner or text links. This is based on all affiliate statistics. This ratio is extremely important, as it will tell you approximately how much traffic you need to generate before you can start earning commissions from the sale. "How will the referrals from my affiliate’s site be tracked and also how long do they stay in the system?" You need to have the confidence that the program will track the people you refer from your site. This is the only way that you will get credit for the sale. The period of time that your referrals stay in the system is also extremely important. The reason is because some visitors do not initially buy the product, but may want to return at a later time to make the purchase. You need to know if you are still going to get credit for the sale, even if it is done a few days or months from a certain day. Most programs track between 45 and 60 days, though some programs track referrals for as long as a year or more. "What are the kinds of affiliate stats available?" The affiliate program you choose should be offering detailed statistics for your review. These should be available at anytime online. By constantly checking your individual stats, you know how many impressions, hits and sales are already generated from your site. "Impressions" are the number of times your banner or text links are viewed by the visitors of your site. "Besides the commissions on sales, does the affiliate program also pay for hits and impressions?" It’s best if you can find a program where impressions and hits are also paid, as this will add to your earnings along with the sales commission. This is especially important if the program you are in offers a low sales point to be able to hit any ratio requirement they may have. "Who is the online retailer you’ll be dealing with?" You need to find out whom you will be doing business with to know if they are a really solid company. Check out the products they are selling and the average sales amounts they are achieving. The more you know about the retailer offering the affiliate program, the easier it is for you to decide if that program is really the right one for you and your site. "Is the program a one tier or two tier affiliate program?" A single tier affiliate program pays you only for the business you yourself generate. A two-tier program pays you for the business/sales you bring in, plus it also pays you a commission on the sales generated by any sub-affiliate you sponsor under you in the program. Some two-tier programs even pay a small fee for each new affiliate you sponsor. This is a recruitment fee, which usually only goes down one level. Lastly, "what is the amount of commission paid?" Depending on which market you get into, you’ll find that 5% - 20% is fairly standard commission that most programs pay out. .01% - .05% is a typical amount paid for each hit. If you find a program that also pays you for banner/text-ad impressions, the amount paid is usually not much at all. As you can see from the figures above, you now understand why the average sales amount and hit to sale ratio is a very important fact to know about before getting into any affiliate program. These are just some of the questions that need to be answered first before you join an affiliate program. You should also become familiar with the many important aspects that your chosen program has before incorporating them into your marketing campaign and website. Ask your affiliate program choices these questions. They can help you select the right program for you and your site from among the many available. My recommendation for one of the best Affiliate Commision sites going is Commision Junction. They have a wide variety of both affiliate programs and payouts. CJ is certainly worth a look if you want to get serious about this type of Affiliate Marketing. To your continued success! Ross "The Pit Boss"

What s bias got to do with it

Interesting people have opinions and beliefs that they they feel strongly about. Let's call these biases, especially when talking about theirs. Hehe. Bias: A preference or an inclination, especially one that inhibits impartial judgment. What does this mean for you marketing a product you love? 1. Everyone doesn't have the same biases you do. And they like their biases just as much as you like yours. 2. If you continue to try to force everyone to convert to your biases, the government might come out with a new Do Not Talk To Me Registry. Then what will we do? They'll muzzle us all. (The Do Not Call Registry has 120 million Americans signed up in the US. The deafening message from American consumers to marketers: "We don't want to be bothered with your stuff - we didn't ask for it and don't want it."(!) 3. Ask first for people who are biased the same way you are, or who are open to new information if they have no opinion yet. (First group gets you an instant relationship, by virtue of your shared biases. And sometimes you can enlighten someone who's mind is open. But don't mess with those biased against - then you're in the therapy zone.) Example #1: Say a gal markets nutritional supplements because SHE loves them, and she's had great results: she's not dragging around like she used to. Of course, like the gal said on the call yesterday, now she wants to save the tired people of the world. Problem: They didn't ask for her to come save them, did they? We are, despite our own beliefs and biases for our product, an uninvited guest. Here's how to get an invitation from those who are like you: Begin by asking for people with the same biases as you. Here are two biases from two different people: Which is going to be more fun for you to talk to (unless you like to argue instead of get a customer): A. "I believe that prescription medications are probably best. B. "I know that nutritional supplements are necessary because the food doesn't have enough nutrients anymore." Can you let go of A? (unless you prefer doing therapy, but don't expect gratitude.) Example 2. Suzanne markets earth-friendly, non-toxic household cleaners, which she uses. Which person seems to have her bias? "I think the traditional cleaners really work best, and I don't think those big companies would put toxins and chemicals in them that would harm us. The Government wouldn't let them." "I worried for years that my regular cleaning products were making me sneeze and my kids get sniffles and breathing problems. So I've always been on the lookout for alternatives." So what's bias got to do with it? Uhh, everything. Oh, and in case you think YOUR views are just common sense, not biases, sorry to disappoint: "Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen." - Albert Einstein
